Privacy Policy
TLC Designs apps have no account, no ads, and no analytics. What you create stays on your iPhone — and moves only when you choose.
TLC Designs Privacy Policy
Applies to: BP Simple, Alarm Ace, ScoreDeck, RecordLog, DriveLedger, AppLimit, and ConstructionPal (and any future TLC Designs app). Last updated: October 7, 2026 Publisher: TLC Designs — Scott Mashimo
The short version
TLC Designs apps are built on one rule: your data is yours, and it stays on your device unless you decide otherwise. No TLC Designs app has an account, a server of ours, analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking. There is nothing to sign up for, and nothing we could see even if we wanted to.
Two apps can move data off your device — but only through actions you take yourself, and only to destinations you choose:
- RecordLog can copy recordings to a cloud folder you select in the Files app, and can send one specific recording to Apple's speech servers if you approve it because on-device recognition isn't available. Recording, playback, and on-device transcription never transmit audio.
- BP Simple, Alarm Ace, and ScoreDeck never transmit your app data at all.
What we collect
Nothing. TLC Designs does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data — no account, no login, no profile, no telemetry. No analytics SDK, no attribution SDK, no advertising SDK, and no third-party SDK of any kind is present in any TLC Designs app.
What happens to what you enter
Everything you enter in an app — recordings, scores, team names, blood pressure readings, alarms, settings — is stored locally on your device in the app's on-device store. It is never sent to a TLC Designs server (none exists) or to any other server, except in the specific cases below, and only when you choose:
- Platform billing (App Store): processing your optional purchase — including RecordLog's one-time recording unlock. Payment goes through Apple; TLC Designs never receives or stores your payment information.
- Sharing a file you export: when you explicitly use your device's share sheet to send an exported file (a recording, a BP Simple CSV or PDF report, a transcript) somewhere you choose.
- RecordLog cloud archive (RecordLog only): if you configure a destination through the Files app (iCloud Drive, OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, or another provider), RecordLog copies recordings there as archive files. That destination is your storage, chosen by you, and RecordLog never overwrites, moves, or deletes those provider files. Archive encryption is provided by your storage provider, not by RecordLog.
- Apple-server transcription (RecordLog only): on-device recognition is always attempted first and never transmits audio. If on-device recognition is unavailable, you may explicitly approve sending one specific recording to Apple's speech servers. This requires a setting you enable plus a per-recording confirmation — there is no automatic or silent upload.
App permissions, and what they're for
Each app requests only the access its core function requires, and only when you use that feature:
| App | Permission it may ask for | Why | Data leaving device? |
|---|---|---|---|
| BP Simple | Apple Health (optional) | Read/write blood pressure, heart rate, and weight so your readings can live in one place | Never — health-store sync is on-device only |
| Alarm Ace | Notifications, Camera (Photo/QR missions), exact alarms | Ring your alarm at the scheduled time; capture/scan a reference photo you chose | Never |
| ScoreDeck | None | No permission is required to keep score | Never |
| RecordLog | Microphone; Speech Recognition | Record audio you start; transcribe a completed recording | Never for recording or on-device transcription; only via the user-approved paths above |
No TLC Designs app requests location or contacts. No app requests access to your photo library; Alarm Ace's camera use is limited to the capture or scan you deliberately perform for a mission.
What TLC Designs apps do NOT do
- No TLC Designs server. No app has a backend. Your data is not sent to any TLC Designs-controlled infrastructure — none exists.
- No account. No app has a login, profile, or credential store of its own.
- No analytics. No usage, crash, or behavioral data is collected by the apps. Platform crash reporting (App Store Connect) exists only as an Apple platform feature for quality monitoring — no such SDK is embedded in the apps.
- No advertising. No ads are shown, ever. No advertising SDK is present. Nothing can interrupt your screen with content you didn't ask for.
- No tracking. TLC Designs apps do not track you across apps or websites, and no third party tracks you through them.
- No background uploads. No app transmits your content without an action you take. RecordLog's cloud archive copies only to the destination you configured; nothing else syncs anywhere.
- No secondary use. Your data is never used for marketing, advertising, model training, or any purpose other than the app function you asked for.
Data retention and deletion
- Retention: your data stays in the app until you delete it, delete the app, or restore a device without the app's data. TLC Designs has no copy of your data to retain — it never reaches us.
- Deletion in the app: every app lets you delete individual items (a game, a reading, an alarm, a recording) and, where offered, all local data. Deleting requires confirmation and is never done silently.
- RecordLog — Recently Deleted: deleted recordings stay recoverable in the app for 30 days, then their local audio, metadata, trim state, and transcripts are removed. You can also delete them permanently right away.
- RecordLog — provider archives: files RecordLog copied to a cloud destination you chose are never deleted, moved, or overwritten by RecordLog, even if you delete the local recording or uninstall the app. You manage those files in your provider's app or website.
- Deleting the app removes its locally stored data from that device.
- Health-store note (BP Simple): samples already written to Apple Health are managed by that platform. Deleting BP Simple's local data does not remove samples from the health store; you can delete those in the Apple Health app.
- Device backups: your app's local data is included in your device's standard platform backup (iCloud Backup on iOS) when you have backups enabled. That backup is controlled by Apple and restores only during an iOS device restore.
Third-party services
The third parties involved in a TLC Designs app are limited to:
- The platform: Apple (App Store, iCloud Backup, and — for RecordLog only — Apple's speech recognition service when you approve a server job).
- Your own storage provider (RecordLog only, optional): iCloud Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, or another Files provider you select as an archive destination. Their handling of those files is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Each operates under its own privacy policy and receives only what its function requires. No analytics provider, ad network, or data broker is involved, because no analytics or advertising exists in the apps.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
TLC Designs apps do not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13, so there is nothing to disclose or delete under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. The apps contain no advertising and no third-party content, which also makes them suitable for use around children — including keeping score at kids' games.
California and EU residents
- California (CCPA/CPRA): because TLC Designs apps collect no personal information and sell nothing, there is no personal information to disclose, share, or delete upon request.
- EU/UK (GDPR): no personal data is processed by TLC Designs, so there are no data-subject requests to fulfill. If you contact us for support, we use your email only to answer you and keep it no longer than needed to resolve your request. RecordLog's optional cloud archive and Apple-server transcription are initiated by you and involve your own storage provider or Apple, not TLC Designs.
Recording responsibility (RecordLog)
RecordLog records audio you ask it to record. Laws about recording conversations differ by jurisdiction, and venue, school, and workplace rules apply on top of them. RecordLog presents a responsibility acknowledgment on first launch and keeps it available afterward, but it does not determine whether a recording is lawful or permitted — that decision is yours.
Security
There is no TLC Designs server to breach. App data lives in the platform's protected on-device storage, guarded by the same iOS sandbox and device security that protects the rest of your phone. RecordLog protects active recordings and finalized audio with iOS file-protection classes, including during device lock. All communication with the platform (billing, updates) is encrypted by Apple.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be noted in each app's release notes. The policy's claims always match the App Privacy declaration submitted to the App Store.
