Publisher: TLC Designs
Platform: iOS 17.0+ and Android 10+ (API 29+)
Bundle ID: com.tlcdesigns.bpsimple
Overview
BP Simple is a local-first blood-pressure logger. It records systolic, diastolic, and pulse readings from a home cuff, displays them on a combined timeline with weight and medication events, synchronizes with Apple Health and Health Connect, and generates on-device CSV exports and PDF reports for doctors.
The app does not measure blood pressure, diagnose conditions, display clinical threshold bands, or recommend treatment.
Features
Reading entry
- Systolic and diastolic (required), pulse (optional)
- Timestamp prefilled to now, editable to any past time
- Optional: arm (left/right), body position (sitting/standing/lying), weight, note
- Validation: systolic 40–300, diastolic 20–200, pulse 20–250, diastolic must be < systolic
- No interpretive labels — values inside range always save without warning
Timeline and trends
- Combined chart with toggleable series: systolic, diastolic, pulse, weight, medication events
- Range selection: 7, 30, 90, 365 days
- 7/30-day: individual readings; 90-day: daily means; 365-day: weekly means
- Morning window 04:00–11:59, evening window 17:00–23:59 (by local time at measurement)
- Averages shown only when n ≥ 3; every average displays its count
- No clinical threshold bands or risk coloring
Medications
- Name (required), dose value (optional), free-text dose unit (optional — tablets, mg, mcg, puffs, mL)
- Daily reminder times with local notifications
- Reminders survive DST transitions and timezone changes
- Mark dose as taken from the app or notification
- No dosage advice, interaction warnings, or BP-medication linkage
Health-store sync
- Read and write: blood pressure, heart rate
- Read only: body weight
- Not accessed: medications
- Self-authored samples are filtered on read (no duplicates from own writes)
- Trailing 14-day read window on launch and manual refresh
- Imported readings paired with heart-rate samples within ±120 seconds of same source
- Tombstone table prevents re-import of deleted samples
- Sync is optional and never blocks logging
Export and import
- CSV export: RFC 4180 escaped, UTF-8 with BOM, all record types (readings, weight, medications, schedules, events)
- Three destinations: email to self, save a copy (cloud drive), share sheet
- CSV import: additive only, never destructive; deduplicates; skips malformed rows; reports counts
- Both export and import work in the expired trial state
Doctor report
- On-device PDF generation for 7/30/90-day or custom period
- Includes: identity line (if set), reading table, averages with counts, medication events, disclaimer
- Disclaimer on every page: "BP Simple logs readings from your cuff. It does not measure blood pressure. This app is not medical advice."
- Paginated with repeated header; no text below 9pt
- Opens native share sheet — nothing transmitted automatically
