Right triangles

Stair stringers, roof pitches, squaring a foundation, raking trim — the jobsite runs on right triangles. Enter any two sufficient values among rise, run, diagonal, and pitch or slope angle, and ConstructionPal solves the rest.

What you can enter

  • Rise and run → diagonal, pitch angle, slope.
  • Run and pitch → rise, diagonal.
  • Rise and diagonal → run, angles.
  • Any other mathematically sufficient pair, including diagonal with an angle.

Degenerate and insufficient combinations are refused before evaluation with a plain reason — the app won't hand you a nonsense answer from a zero-length side.

Square-up without the table

Foundation layout's oldest check — equal diagonals means square — is a two-input problem here: enter the two sides, read the diagonal, pull your tapes to match. No rafter table, no separate pro module, no upsell. Triangle solving is in version 1 for everyone.

Exact where it counts

Triangle results go through the same exact pipeline as everything else: computed precisely, displayed per your smallest-fraction and unit settings, stored exact. A stair rise that must divide evenly shows you the truth, not a rounded hope.
