Troubleshooting
Quick fixes for the things that can go wrong — recording won't start, stopped unexpectedly, Noise Reduction blocked, Dual Mono grayed out, Boom Mic refused, trim, transcription, and cloud-only entries.
Troubleshooting
- Recording won't start — check microphone permission (iPhone Settings → RecordLog), confirm you accepted the responsibility note, and check free space. The app refuses to start when space is critically low rather than risk a broken file.
- Recording stopped unexpectedly — open RecordLog. Interrupted recordings are found and offered for recovery. Then use Continue Recording to start a linked
Part 2. - Noise Reduction won't turn on, or recording is blocked with it on — noise reduction only works with supported single-mic setups. With stereo, two-mic, Bluetooth hands-free, or an unrecognized mic setup, the app explains why and stops instead of guessing. Turn it off or switch setups. See Noise Reduction.
- Dual Mono is grayed out — your connected mic isn't providing two channels. The built-in iPhone mic always provides one; connect a two-channel interface or receiver. See Dual Mono Mics.
- Boom Mic won't start — Boom Mic needs a confirmed Bluetooth speaker. Headset mics, AirPlay/HomePod, the phone speaker, and wired outputs are refused with an explanation. See Boom Mic.
- Trim failed to save — the original is untouched. Try the trim again, or export the original through the share sheet.
- Transcription unavailable — version 1 writes English only, and depends on what Apple's on-device recognition supports on your phone and OS version. The app will tell you if the Apple-server option exists and ask before using it.
- Cloud-only entry won't play — tap Restore. The backup file must be reachable.

- Anything else — send it through the RecordLog feedback page (or Settings → Feedback in the app), or email recordlog@tlcdesigns.com with your iPhone model, iOS version, and what happened.
